“ Becoming a family of three has exceeded all my expectations. I honestly didn't know what to expect — I just knew that it would all be ok. This new role has been the most challenging yet rewarding experience for my husband and me. Having someone rely on me for everything makes me want to be the best mother and wife I can be.
A few years back, I lost my sister in the most tragic way. I was so upset and so sad that I thought I would never want to get married or have children. I felt this way because I knew I would not be able to share these memories with my sister.
Fast forward a couple of years, I met Cale … and everything changed. The moment I met him, I knew I was going to marry him. I didn't even have his phone number yet but I remember telling a friend ‘I'm going to marry him.’ We ended up doing long distance while I lived in Athens; Cale moved up shortly after. We got engaged in Paris and married in 2017. Although my sister is not here, I know she would have loved Cale and she would have been a wonderful aunt. Cale has been the most compassionate husband. He has made our family so special and I can't wait to continue to grow our family.
I am admittedly VERY blessed to have such a wonderful man for a husband and as the father of our child. Cale is so patient not only with me, but also our baby, Beckham. He is always the first one to offer to help with the baby. Whether that means changing diapers, waking up in the middle of the night, or just giving me some time alone. He caters to my needs and makes sure that I'm taken care of. I'm so happy that Beckham has such an amazing role model to look up to.
My favorite time of the day is when Cale gets home from work. There is nothing I enjoy more than being able to be home all day with our son but the moment Cale comes home, our day is complete. To have that quality time all together is the best time. I can't wait for the moment when Beckham is old enough to greet daddy by the door.
We recently moved back to the area after living in Athens for five years. We bought our ranch-style home knowing that this is where we would grow our family. The bright sunroom (filled with an abundance of natural light) is a room that brings us so much joy! We love to sit in our bright green chairs and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. I believe a room filled with natural light is good for the soul — the perfect way to get your day going!
Beckham's room is another favorite because Cale and I wanted to create a space that was calming. The light blue walls, wood work, and paint were touches we did as a family. We wanted this room to be a reflection of our traditional yet modern style. We knew we would be spending the majority of our time in this room. The painting above his crib was a project Cale and I did together (hidden in the painting you will our thumbprints).
The way my child makes me feel is indescribable. Although this a new role for me, it is by far my best achievement. I never thought I would be okay running on a few hours of sleep. When he looks at me and smiles it literally melts me into a puddle!
Home to me is happiness and comfort. It's the smiles that greet you after a long day. It’s slow dancing in the kitchen. It’s the laughs that fill our home. It's the place I thoroughly enjoy the most. It's the place where we feel secure and relaxed. Home isn't just a physical place; it's anywhere as long as I'm with my family. ” ~ Morgan, mother
When Cale and Morgan reached out to me to capture their first sweet baby, Beckham, I was so excited! I had known Cale since we were children. Our parents worked together growing up and we went to the same high school. Their gorgeous home in Savannah, GA was filled with the most stunning light, not to mention it was perfectly decorated. I don't think I have ever seen such a dreamy master bedroom. There is something that fills my heart with so much joy when I get to capture a family in their home. Everyone is relaxed and comfortable. I also love how it documents this stage in their lives. Not only will they get to share these images with baby Beckham when he is older, but he will also be able to look back on his very first home! ” ~ Katrina, photographer, Katrina Barrow Photography
